These universities provide great opportunity for those students who don’t get admission in government universities in Delhi.
Earlier it was believed, even still it is assumed that government college are better to get admission in than private universities. Though it is true but partially. It must be noticed that government colleges also vary among themselves.
So there are two categories of colleges. First, government colleges in which it is tough to get admission, these are the prime colleges. Second, government colleges, in which it is comparatively easy to get admission, and are less prime, private colleges also come under this second category.
The parameters on which these colleges vary are-
- Competency of faculty
- Availability of required resources
- Exposure to opportunity such as conferences, paper presentations etc.
- Classroom environment, such as the commitment of students.
This difference in classroom environment influences your commitment towards studies, place you in different peer pressures, and direct your motivations.
Below are some of the differences between first category government and second category government and private colleges.
Parameter
Government Universities in Delhi
Private Universities in NCR
Eligibility of admission.
You need to score above 90% (if you are from general category) to get admission in government colleges, expect for IGNOU which is open university.
You need to score minimum 50% and in some universities crack the entrance of university or face an interview.
Fee Structure
The fees is very less. You can cover the whole course of 3 years in approx INR 50,000/- (this may vary from university to university)
The fees is very high compared to government colleges. The fees of one semester is minimum INR 50,000/-
Type of degree
You don’t get specialisation at bachelors level.
You might get specialisation in some universities.
So if you are clear with your goal, you will achieve that in both the types of environment but if you are not clear with your future goals then chances of you getting influenced by your environment are more.
Thus getting admission in good* government colleges motivates you towards career progress. But obviously not everyone can get admission to these college as the number of seats are limited. So don’t worry, you can still take admission in private universities and take the best use of its faculty and resources given that you are clear with your goals.
- colleges that have high cut-offs for admission.
